When I got off work yesterday I picked up the family and headed to Rockwall for the girl's dentist appointments. In that hour drive, I literally felt myself go from normal to blah! I don't know why, it just happened but I know I don't want my whole week to be like that. As soon as we got home I hit the bed, thankfully daddy was there to get the kids in bed and the rest of the stuff taken care of. I am thinking my body was just tired and needed a rest, however AF is gone and I should be feeling better this week.
Today is another day and even though I started it feeling yuck, I have been praying for a better mood and attitude. I will not be defeated!
I have been encouraged this morning by several new blogs I have come across. I just have to remember that this is a marathon and not a sprint. I didn't put all this extra weight on over night and its not going to come off over night, no matter how hard I try.

ReplyDeleteI know that I often get frustrated when the weight doesn't go down often. But it is definitely a marathon. Or in my case, a super marathon. I wish you the best in this new year.

ReplyDeleteI have come to the realisation that my weight isn't going to come off as fast anymore as it did in the beginning. I truly believe that changes are not just seen on the outside, you have to make changes on the inside too...sometimes we have to learn to trust God and his timing for everything even when it comes to the scale:)

ReplyDeleteYes... it's not going to happen over night (dang it!).... we didn't do this over night :( Danny & I were doing so good last time and we've always known what would help us to not have to keep getting back on the calorie counting road. We have to change our entire attitude about eating... that means it's now a lifestyle change. Of course, our kids don't need to have low cal meals... but being mindful of what we (and I say 'we' because we both cook throughout the week) put on the table. I'm really good about keeping fruit in our house because our kids love most everything.... but then I'll go have a candy bar (even though I like some fruits). We'll be back this summer for a furlough and maybe we could be treadmill buddies :) -Krista-
ReplyDeleteKrista~ I am finding with our girls that they are curious about the calories that they are consuming since they see me monitor mine so often. I am not trying to have them on a restricted calorie diet but I am trying to teach them about being balanced and the right chooses to make with food. If you are like me (and I think were a lot alike) you probably didn't have those guidelines established for you as a kid. My prayer is that this will be a lifestyle they grow accustomed to and not a battle for the rest of their lives. My husband is not the best for me support wise, he is a junk food junkie all the time (i.e, candy, ice cream, double decker sandwiches, pizza, etc). I am praying for a change in him too. This journey would be so much easier if I had my family supporting and doing it with me.

I'll be praying for a family change too.... it is helpful. Danny started it a few times without me and I wasn't much help :( When we did this last time together he lost the most weight he's ever lost at one time... it helps that 2 evenings a week he plays football/practices (he's on a team... we have a blog if you're interested). Just keep it up till this summer and if your hubby isn't using his key I'll take it! haha. But here's to praying he won't be able to share ;)

ReplyDeleteoh yes... that's it. i probably won't put a lot about losing weight on there bec. it's a family/ministry blog and some pastors read it and i don't want them thinking it's a "wifey" or "girly" blog LOL! but i'm about to post a recipe that we use.... so don't think that a lack of proclamation on my part means we're not working on it :)
